Abstract

The information world is facing rapid developments, especially in modern technologies in order to expand statistical coverage, increase periodicity and shorten the lead-time for the delivery of statistics, information, and knowledge services that are useful to decision-makers and other users. At the same time, it is of the utmost importance to preserve the features that distinguish official statistics, which are an essential factor in enhancing trust on the part of users and the public. The GSBPM sets forth a set of phases that any official statistics office should follow. This paper aims to prove that international or regional, national official statistics offices can keep pace with any development and adapt any smart system according to all phases of GSBPM, in the case of this paper GCC-Stat as a regional organization. The paper also aims to explain how that system will improve the previous work in GCC-Stat in two perspectives: i) in general organizational point of view, and ii) specifically through the thoughts of statisticians within GCC-Stat. This paper is expected to contribute in providing an integrated framework for an intelligent system "Marsa" and its compliance with the requirements of "GSBPM", whereby all institutions can benefit from and adapt it to achieve their goals.
