Abstract

Comprehensively understanding water consumption behavior is necessary to design efficient and effective water use strategies. Clean water and sanitation for all in the goal 6 of the SDGs has been emphasized. Water demand is the amount of water required to fulfill the demand of the consumers and it can be influenced in special situations like the natural disasters, pandemic, mass migration etc. Among these factors the pandemic factor has been less considered. In this study the latest pandemic, COVID-19, will be considered. Increasing the precautions and hygiene maters in this pandemic, there are many reasons have been resulting the water consumption. Iran as many other countries has been faced with different defies due to the Covid-19 and precautions and hygiene instructions that includes in simplest way from washing hands at least 20 seconds each time during the day to washing the places, staffs, taking more showers. In manufacturing parts, production of disinfectants, alcohol, Anti-bacterial liquids etc. Has been dramatically increased.
In this study the Covid-19 pandemic is the main point for analyzing the water statistics. Also different changes in water consumption and time series trends will be discussed. The result can be effective for decision maker to manage better the water supply and demand in pandemic time.
