Abstract

The pandemic has transformed our approach to training delivery. In March 2020, Statistics Canada had to halt all ongoing in-classroom training, necessitating a significant change in practices to ensure that employees continued to receive essential training. This adaptation also presented Statistics Canada with opportunities to reconsider the goals and objectives of our learning activities. This presentation will describe the experience of the Strategic Analysis, Publications, and Training Division of Statistics Canada as we embraced this new reality, shedding light on the valuable lessons learned during the transition from in-classroom format to a virtual-only approach, and ultimately to a fully hybrid format. Throughout the presentation, the focus will be on the different strategies employed and the insights gained from this journey.
