Abstract

Within the various statistical programs produced by the National Institute of Statistics and
Geography (INEGI) in Mexico, lies the National Survey on Discrimination (ENADIS),
produced in partnership with Mexico's National Human Rights Commission and the
National Council to Prevent Discrimination.
The latter represents an effort to acknowledge the magnitude of discrimination in the
country and its manifestations in daily life: perceptions, information about the perpetrator
and what areas of life they are prone to experiencing discrimination based on their
religious background, age, sexual preference, health condition, or physical and cultural
characteristics.
Given the above, this intervention will share INEGI's experience in producing statistical
data regarding the different aspects of discrimination and its impacts faced by the
population in Mexico, which is useful for national institutions in charge of formulating public
policies based in scientific evidence.
