    Abstract

Rapidly growing data sources, data science and, above all, methods of so-called artificial intelligence not only generate substantial new possibilities for producing evidence or improving the efficiency of existing methods. With these new recipes, questions of risks and side effects also arise in a new form and with high urgency. The ethical principles and principles of good governance that have emerged and become established in the statistical community serve as quality standards and are important tools for building trust in statistical facts. With regard to these, questions now arise as to whether they need to be modified and adapted to the new possibilities, as well as how ethical aspects can be fundamentally woven into education, training and data literacy.
The ISI Ethical Advisory Board works closely with other national and international societies of statistics to address this issue quickly, competently and with a good sense of the possibilities for a modern continuation of the existing standards. The state of work in different associations will be presented and discussed in this session.
