To enhance your experience at the ISI WSC 2023, the ISI has contracted a number of hotels located in the center of Ottawa and within walking distance of the Shaw Centre. About Ottawa
The Ottawa region’s identity has been influenced by many cultures, including First Nations, French, English, Scottish and Irish. The city of Ottawa is located within the traditional Anishinàbeg Algonquin territory. Since several rivers meet here, the area was an active transportation corridor for an astounding diversity of Indigenous groups and travellers. In fact, the city’s name is derived from the Algonquin word “Odawa,” meaning “to trade.”
Ottawa, Canada’s capital, is situated in Ontario on the border between the province of Ontario and Quebec. The region is easily accessible due to its location 352 km (219 miles) northeast of Toronto, 192 km (120 miles) west of Montreal, and just a short 1 ½ hour flight from New York or Boston.
