Abstract

Newborns are considered the main element in the overpopulation, as a result of which the state directs its resources to absorb this increase through the provision of health, educational and cultural services, as well as qualifying them for the labor market and increasing housing units and infrastructure.
The steady overpopulation is a burden on the national economy and represents a major challenge to the state's continuous efforts in the field of development and community building, as it is the main problem that generates many economic, social, health and environmental problems.
The decrease in the total number of births during the period (January / July) for the year 2021 compared to the same period for the previous years, as well as the year 2022, is due to the precautionary measures related to the Corona pandemic, which began in mid-2020 and led to the reluctance of community members to marry, as well as the fear of some of the effects of the pandemic and its complications on pregnant women, and the fetus, which led to a decrease in the number of births during 2021.
The year 2021 is considered an exceptional year with regard to the decrease in the number of births, compared to those born in the years 2019, 2020, and 2022.
Clearly, the average number of monthly and daily births, and the average number of births per hour, minute and second, decreased during the period (January-July), but this decrease is less than the desired level, as it does not achieve the required balance between the rate of economic and population growth.
This increase drains development efforts and leads to an increase in burdens on society and the state due to the need to increase government spending directed to health, education and social services for newborns.
By comparing the total number of deaths during the last four years according to the months (January / July), it is clear that the total number of deaths increased during the years 2020 and 2021 compared to 2019.
The period (January-July) 2022 witnessed a noticeable decline in the number of deaths after the Corona pandemic receded and the means of protection against the virus were provided through all kinds of vaccinations and vaccines.
The number of deaths in 2022 decreased by about 77 thousand, by 19% compared to 2020, and by about 119 thousand, by 27% compared to 2021.
The number of natural increase decreased significantly during the months (January - July) 2021 compared to the same period for the years 2019 and 2020 due to the sharp increase in the number of deaths during the year 2021.
And with the return of life to normal during the year 2022, the number of natural increase increased, increasing by about 137 thousand, or by 18% compared to 2021, due to the limited increase in the number of births and the significant decrease in the number of deaths.
We note that there is consistency with the years 2019 and 2020 with a decrease in the natural increase.
