Abstract

This research paper aims to highlight the challenge of shortage in physicians facing the Egyptian healthcare system in the context of Covid’19 pandemic. Qualitative audio in-depth interviews had been conducted with participants who are mixture of residents, fresh graduates, and house officers to investigate the push and pull factors that determined their intention to migrate. Participants had their medical education/training in either Cairo University, Ain Shams University, Al-Azhar University and Alexandria University. Descriptive statistical analysis is also conducted using data requested from Egyptian Medical Syndicate in April 2022 of the resigned doctors from 2017 to 2021.
