Abstract

Egypt is facing a major challenge in confronting the climate change crisis and its repercussions on many of the main sectors on top of which are the agricultural. The agricultural sector is one of the sectors most affected by the climate change crisis in Egypt. The sector’s ability to overcome the pressures of climate change is weak, especially for rural communities. It is among the most affected by climate changes due to the weakness of the infrastructure that is able to adapt to these fluctuations or face their negative repercussions.
Climate change affects agriculture, and these effects appear unevenly throughout Damietta Governorate, and future climate change is likely to negatively affect crop production.
This paper sheds light on the study of the impact of climatic conditions on the change of crop area in Damietta Governorate for the year 2018/2019. Data were obtained from both the Ministry of Agriculture and the General Authority of Meteorology. The analytical approach was applied using Dynamic regression analysis to measure the effect of each of the independent variables, which are the averages of the maximum and minimum temperature degrees, relative humidity, and the amount of rain on the dependent variable, which is the cropped area in acres, through a package.
