Abstract

Platform workers are defined as own account workers who provide paid labour services on online matching platforms. These platforms serve as intermediaries that match clients with workers for piece meal or assignment based work/tasks. This presentation shares SIngapore’s experience in improving our data collection methods to obtain reliable estimates of the prevalence of platform work, including refinements we have made to reference periods, matching with administrative records and licensing registries.
